The Requirements

To be a good fit for the Warehouse Technician opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in a warehouse environment
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of tools and parts
  • Ability to operate a forklift; forklift certification is a plus
  • Strong basic math skills (i.e. add, subtract, multiply, divide, ascertain unit percentages in whole, fraction and decimal form)  Quick question for you - click here
  • Solid computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with ERP or WMS software, ideally SAP  Quick question for you - click here
  • An unwavering commitment to safety; ability to learn and apply the company's environmental and industrial hygiene policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role including frequent walking, standing, crouching, climbing, reaching and lifting; ability to repeatedly lift 60 pounds
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the work well with others, even when under pressure

You will work from 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. While overtime is minimal, you could work nights or weekends once or twice a year to do counts or other warehouse projects. The position may require exposure to adverse weather conditions and hazardous environments. You must have the physical stamina to load and unload deliveries. We will provide necessary personal protective equipment.

The Role

Role Overview
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, as Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for compiling and maintaining material, parts inventory and status information within the warehouse. You will accurately pull orders in preparation for pick up, verify and enter receipt of incoming shipments, and distribute material and parts appropriately. Our inventory is made up of parts and pieces to make repairs to the pipeline and refinery, and other materials necessary to the business.

Your efforts will support the local refinery and other areas, including along 40 miles of refined product pipeline. The pipeline serves our Wyoming refinery, which produces high-quality gasoline, distillates, fuel oil diesel, jet fuel and other products. Typically, you will spend approximately 80% of your time pulling inventory and filling orders and 20% completing documentation, doing data input and other handling other administrative tasks.

Role Details
Your essential job duties include:
  • Regulatory and Safety Compliance. You will:
    • Stay abreast of all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to safety data sheets and hazardous materials.
    • Develops or modifies compliance and safety programs.
    • Implement and ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with industry, regulatory and company standards and procedures.
    • Adhere to the company vehicle policy, in addition to following all state, county and city laws.
  • Responsibility for warehouse structures, maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Ensuring incoming/outgoing stock is accurately checked for quantity and quality.
  • Comparing identifying information and quantities on the packing slip against the purchase order; counting items for verification and indicating any discrepancies.
  • Entering other incoming shipments in the computer, as physical counts are verified.
  • Manually or using the hand truck or forklift, performing various material handling duties in the facility, such as delivering stock and non-stock items to various work sites.
  • Using tools, such as hammers and crowbars, to remove strapping and to open and reseal crates for stock or shipping.
  • Immediately unpacking stock bins and cabinets when supplies are received.
  • Stacking skids or pallets in designated areas.
  • Cleaning up and disposing of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping;  placing scrap in the proper containers or designated areas.
  • Maintaining warehouse in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintaining neat and relevant files and records.
  • Communicating frequently and effectively with management.
