The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Cash Specialist opportunity, you will have:

  • 4 to 8+ years in Finance or Accounting with a strong background in Treasury
  • Banking administration experience
  • Merger integration experience is highly preferred
  • Some supervisory or management experience is an advantage but not required
  • Experience in the Refinery, Oil & Gas or Energy Industries preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including:
    • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite programs, including strong Excel skills (ability to create complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) 
    • SAP knowledge and experience preferred
  • Ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on financial statements

You will generally work a Monday through Friday normal business hours but should be flexible and willing to put in some extra time during peak needs, such as quarterly reporting, merger integration, or when implementing performance improvement projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Treasurer, as Cash Specialist, you will manage one direct report, the Treasury Coordinator, and be responsible for daily cash administration, bank account management, accounts receivable exposure reporting and more. You will influence cash management processes and improvements, ensuring we are following company policies and procedures, and learn and stretch in other areas as needed.

Daily, you'll oversee cash positioning, reporting and payments (approval of wires), including payments and the cash management function. Specific responsibilities will include: 
  • Bank account administration
  • Overseeing daily payment runs (ACH / wires) involving multiple bank accounts
  • Supporting the credit function with vendors and suppliers
  • LC and parent company guarantee administration
  • Preparation of AR exposure report 2xs per month (i.e. collecting analyze data from various departments and submitting findings to leadership to inform decisions around collections and other credit needs)
  • Cash positioning and oversight of daily cash/liquidity report (multiple accounts across multiple legal entities)   
  • Oversight of analyst reconciling cash receipts with invoices 
  • Forecasting current liquidity needs
  • Managing month- quarter- and year-end close from a cash perspective (e.g. clearing open case items; supporting internal and external auditors, etc.)
  • Back-up for other roles, such as the Treasury Coordinator, as needed
  • Project work as driven and assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned
We are in the process of automating a number of systems, but currently, there is a good deal of manual work. You'll have the opportunity to influence those processes in their manual form and as we automate, contributing to best practices.
