The Requirements

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Senior Financial Analyst opportunity, you will have: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related focus required; an advanced degree and/or CPA is a plus 
  • 3-5+ years of relevant financial analysis and/or accounting experience
  • Energy industry experience is highly preferred, ideally, refinery / oil & gas. We will also consider experience in other relevant industries, such as industrial manufacturing
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and advanced Excel skills (e.g. complex/compound spreadsheets; VLOOKUPs, HLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.); SAP experience preferred   
  • Change management and process improvement experience preferred
In addition, you will need the following core competencies and characteristics:
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt in a changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a strong team environment
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes

Your Role

Reporting to the Director of Operational Accounting, as Senior Financial Analyst, you will serve as the onsite financial resource, spending the majority of your time at the Kapolei Par West refinery location. You'll interact heavily with the Accounting Team, an Accounting Supervisor and two Staff Accountants located ten minutes away at the Par East location, as well as work with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and other departments, primarily concerning costs and billing. You'll also interact with team members in Houston.

Your core responsibilities will fall into the following categories and duties:

FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS
  • Business Planning and Analysis for the combined refinery (East and West)
  • Annual Operational Expenditure (OpEx) and Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Budget
  • Par West Monthly Forecast meeting

  • Par West Monthly Accruals
  • Follow through on other monthly Par West journal entries
  • Par West Shared Cost Billing
