Position:  Assistant Treasurer                                                          Department:  Treasury

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for leading and supporting day-to-day activities in all corporate finance, treasury, banking and credit areas. Manages daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, forecasting, liquidity reporting, quarterly debt reporting and compliance. Responsible for assisting in the roll out and daily management of the current supply and offtake agreement with J.Aron. Directs all credit functions and initiatives such as annual credit reviews, customer setup and deal by deal exposure management. Builds relationships with lead banks, monitors covenant requirements across multiple credit/loan agreements. The Assistant Treasurer is also responsible for assisting the Treasurer and CFO with a wide variety of financial analyses including cash and liquidity trends, M&A activity, and debt restructuring projects. Responsible for managing a team of three treasury professionals.
 
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance or equivalent required
  • MBA Preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
List years of experience and any other experience requirements/preferences (list 5+)
  • 10+ years of relevant treasury experience required; preferably within the energy industry
  • Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of the industry, physical oil and gas trading, and prior banking relationships a plus
  • Proficiency with Power Point and Excel, including complex/compound spreadsheets.
  • SAP knowledge, and Treasury workstation experience a plus
  • Experience with Bloomberg terminal, or other industry data terminals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization including external clients/vendors/bankers
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written required
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate unexpected changes
 
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement sound and appropriate corporate capital structure and policies, specifically managing corporate finance and debt relationships, required reporting and covenant compliance.
  • Oversees interaction with business and financial partners regarding cash management, credit borrowings, financial data interface, authority levels, letter of credit, investment accounts
  • Ensure that applicable policies and procedures meet with the company’s objectives, needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor all J. Aron daily reporting, invoicing and payment. Company-wide cash management and cash positioning
  • Managing credit related activity including credit reviews, credit line assignments and customer prepay decisions
  • Daily contact with commercial team in forecasting cargo deliveries, and sales for cash flow planning
  • Coordinate with Hawaii accounting team to plan invoicing details such as prepayments, invoice timing and reporting
  • Responsible for bank covenant compliance
  • Perform cash forecast reporting, crude settlement
  • Perform payroll funding, and internal funds transfer
  • Perform letters of credit approvals, and submissions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
