Allegro Developer Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Developer Specialist position is a blended role requiring a strong background in developing custom objects (class events, extensions, views, and reports) for Allegro, building seamless integration with 3rd party systems, and managing the software development lifecycle of the Allegro application. The ideal candidate will have a career history in working with various application development packages –.Net Stack, Middleware, BI/DW, SOAP, etc. and have a good understanding of the Oil & Gas trading/risk and downstream business processes. This experience is necessary for the role, which requires working closely with the functional leads to get an understanding of the business requirements, and to translate those requirements into a solution design, which can be implemented within the business enterprise landscape in a cost-efficient and scalable manner. This person will also be responsible for maintaining technical knowledge on processes and integration areas within all impacted business functions (Commercial, Trading and Risk, Operation, and Finance/Accounting).
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree  in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • MCSD (Microsoft), AGILE, or SCRUM certification preferred
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • 7+ years of experience, preferably in a multi-site downstream oil & gas and/or a retail environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of programming languages, including .Net Framework (including VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET), C/C++, SQL, PL/SQL
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming and UI Front-End Development (Angular, Java, HTML5, Vue, etc.)
  • Experience working or integrating with various enterprise applications preferred, including:
    • Allegro (ETRM)
    • SAP (ERP)
    • Terminal Management/Inventory Management – TMW, G3, TopTech, Sigmafine, etc
  • Hands on experience working on integrated development tools, including Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, and Eclipse
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, SSIS, SSRS, Crystal Reports, and EDI templates.
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Restful services/API’s
  • Allegro system administration experience nice-to-have
 
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Resident expert on software development for Allegro and also all the integration points across business functions & technology
  • Ability to review, understand existing code and make code enhancements for existing production custom software solutions
  • Develop new and/or maintain existing documentation to satisfy typical needs ranging from user requirements to design artifacts.
  • Maintain a strong business, and technology understanding and awareness of trends, opportunities, and issues
  • Proactively identify opportunities and implement enhancements to improve system and business processes to support the goals and objectives of the company
  • Primary technical contributor potentially working across different applications and business areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
