The Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will be at least 21 years of age. In addition, to be a good fit for the Senior Customer Service Associate opportunity, you will have:

  • Proven strong customer service skills, including handling customer issues.
  • Experience in retail sales and cash handling is preferred.
  • Team lead or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • The ability to:
    • Perform basic arithmetic operations accurately.
    • Communicate orally and in writing in English, including proficient telephone communication skills.
    • Work with equipment, tools and materials as required.
    • Stand and/or walk for an entire shift and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • A strong commitment to safety guidelines.
This position also requires a strong work ethic and a good deal of schedule flexibility -- you should be willing and able to work days, swing and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays.

The Role

Reporting to the Store Manager, as a Senior Customer Service Associate (Senior CSA) you will spend the majority of your time providing customer service. In addition, we'll train you to perform end-of-shift processes, such as closing out registers, reconciling cash, administrative reporting and more. On any given shift, you may work with a CSA, Assistant Store Manager and/or Store Manager.

You will be responsible for:
  • Cash and related cashier duties.
  • Sales of fuel and non-fuel items, such as convenience store merchandise. Quick question for you - click here
  • Inventory reports and stocking / merchandising.
  • Safety audits during the shift.
  • Checking in vendors and putting away freight.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Regardless of your shift, part of your duties will be to help ensure that everything for the next shift is prepared and set up. So, for example, if you are closing, you will get everything ready for the morning shift to start.

More specifically, you will:
  • Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service, which may include assisting customers at the gas pump and helping resolve customer issues.
  • Accurately ring up all sales on POS system, complying with all cash handling procedures, including checks and other types of payment received for products sold.
  • Be responsible for all cash, monies, and inventory during shift.
  • Comply with company policies and store procedures, including all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Adopt, participate, and comply with all safety programs.
  • Perform cleaning duties necessary to maintain site cleanliness inside and out, and basic upkeep and/or cleaning of all equipment on the site. Assist with identifying equipment problems.
  • Be a positive team-player, work cohesively with other employees, contribute to a positive work environment.
