The Role
Opportunity SnapshotAs Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will split the care and maintenance of 33 station/store locations with another technician. While you will have primary responsibility for 12-15 assigned sites, you will also back up the other technician on his assigned sites as needed, as he will back up yours. Your primary mission will be to serve as the first line of defense for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing everything from pumps to car wash equipment (4 sites have car washes) to plumbing, store equipment, some food service equipment (Taco John's pictured) and more. If you have HVAC certification, you will also take on those responsibilities. All electrical repairs will be outsourced, so you will not deal with electricity.
Role Details
Daily, you will receive fix tickets via phone. If you begin with multiple tickets, you will prioritize based on urgency and the most logical travel pattern for effective time management. Most sites are within 30 minutes of each other, with one approximately 2 hours away. Much of the time, the ticketing service will prioritize for you.
You will leave your home in a company truck and travel to your first repair. The repair could be anything from fueling equipment to a plumbing issue in one of our bathrooms or restaurants to general clean up. Quick question for you - click here You will handle a wide variety of activities, with every day being different. Once the repair is complete, you will call the ticketing service and explain what you did. The service will document the details of your repair and close the ticket. You will be responsible for little to no documentation. You will continue throughout your day and week, making repairs via work tickets. When time allows, you will also have preventative maintenance duties so that equipment remains in top form.
Key to Success
This is a role that pivots on quality. The repairs you make must be effective and complete, keeping equipment in top form so that 3rd party vendors need to be called only for major repairs such as electrical or HVAC. Beyond your technical skill and responsibility, you'll bring:
- An unwavering commitment to safety
- A sense of urgency
- The ability to work independently but also as a strong team member
- An open, helpful and communicative style when working with team members at each site
- A positive upbeat approach to your work
- A sense of pride in your efforts and accomplishments
