You will: Par Petroleum LLC, a subsidiary of Par Pacific Holdings Inc., has recently purchased 33 Cenex Zip Trip convenience stores in eastern Washington and northwestern Idaho from CHS Inc. These c-stores are Par Pacific Holdings' first retail assets in the continental United States; and we have more than 90 retail outlets in Hawaii. You’ll be among the first hires under this new organizational structure. 

Par Pacific Holdings, Inc., based in Houston, Texas, owns, manages and maintains interests in energy and infrastructure businesses. Par Pacific's strategy is to identify, acquire and operate energy and infrastructure companies with attractive competitive positions. We own and operate one of the largest energy infrastructure networks in Hawaii with a 94,000-bpd refinery, a logistics network supplying the major islands of the state and 90 retail locations. In Wyoming, Par Pacific owns a refinery and associated logistics network in a niche market. Par Pacific also owns 42.3% of Laramie Energy, LLC, a joint venture entity focused on producing natural gas in Garfield, Mesa and Rio Blanco Counties, Colorado. The Requirements

To be a strong fit for the role of Accounting Clerk, you will have:
  • Experience in a position requiring strict attention to detail such as accounting, admin, order entry, etc.  
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent; college coursework is a plus
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with AP/AR is preferred Quick question for you - click here
  • Solid computer and keyboarding skills, including experience with:
    • MS Office Word and Excel;
    • PDI enterprise management software is a plus
    • SAP software is plus  Quick question for you - click here
  • Strong basic math skills 
  • A valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • The ability to consistently meet or exceed goals and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Strong customer service skills in person and over the phone
  • Solid analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • A motivated, self-starter mentality with the desire to learn and develop your skills
You will work Monday through Friday business hours from our offices in Spokane. Overtime could be available on occasion, but as a rule, you'll be able to meet your responsibilities in a 40 hour work week.  

The Role

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, you will join a team that also includes an Accountant and Accounting Specialist. Your role will have a good many administrative responsibilities, with your primary tasks centered on convenience store transactions. You will:
  • Review inventory transactions for the convenience stores
  • Spot check daily store paperwork for accuracy
  • Recalculate variances, as needed
  • Visit stores and call store personnel as needed to gather facts and research information
  • Enter data in PDI and SAP
Additional duties may include:
  • Proactively communicating with internal and external employees and vendors to facilitate issue resolution
  • Ensuring accurate and timely workflow 
  • Assisting with daily and month-end AP/AR functions
  • Ensuring consistent adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Assisting with establishing and maintaining procedures
  • Contributing to special projects as requested
  • Working closely with Accounting Team members to develop your skills
  • Handling other duties as assigned
