An Idaho Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) favorite, Taco John's in Lewiston is hiring and has a number of part-time positions available. If you have strong service skills combined with the ability to learn and perform in a fast-paced environment, the role of Team Member with Taco John's in Lewiston offers some strong advantages. You will: Par Petroleum LLC, a subsidiary of Par Pacific Holdings Inc., owns and operates 33 Cenex Zip Trip convenience stores in eastern Washington and northwestern Idaho, including the Lewiston location which also houses a Taco John's quick-service restaurant. At Taco John’s®, we serve traditional Mexican food—with a twist. By fusing bold American flavors with south-of-the-border spice, we’ve defined our signature menu, including our trademark Potato Olés® and freshly prepared tacos to our infamous breakfast burritos and made-in-house tortilla chips. You will support the restaurant by providing outstanding customer service.

Par Pacific Holdings, Inc., based in Houston, Texas, owns, manages and maintains interests in energy and infrastructure businesses. Par Pacific's strategy is to identify, acquire and operate energy and infrastructure companies with attractive competitive positions. The Requirements

To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will be at least 16 years of age and be authorized to work In the US for any employer without requiring Visa Sponsorship or Visa Transfer. 

To be a strong fit for the Team Member opportunity, you will have: 
  • Some customer service experience, ideally in a QSR or other service-oriented environment; cash handling or food service experience is preferred.   • The ability to:
    • Perform basic arithmetic operations accurately
    • Verbally communicate in English
    • Work various shifts as scheduled, and arrive on time
    • Work with equipment, tools, and materials as required
    • Perform essential duties in a timely and efficient manner
    • Obtain your food handling card
  • A strong commitment to safety guidelines
  • The ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift
  • Ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 pounds
  • 20/40 vision or better, depth perception, full field; the ability to distinguish colors as required to perform duties 
  • A friendly, outgoing personality and a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Willingness to learn any position, from cashier to prep to making food
Depending on the need and your availability, you could be assigned a variety of shifts between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. 

The Role

About Your Role
Reporting to the Manager, Assistant Manager and/or Team Leader, as Team Member, you will provide outstanding customer service and may be responsible for:
  • Order taking; confirming each order with the customer placing that order
  • Cashier duties. Accurately ringing up customers and taking payment (cash, debit or credit card) 
  • Answering questions about the menu
  • Food preparation, either on the line, or first shift general prep
  • Bagging and presenting orders to the customer
  • Replenishing supplies (lids, straws, utensils, condiments, etc.)
  • Cleaning tables, throwing away trash, etc.
  • Receiving/unloading stock
  • Resolving customer complaints; ensuring customer satisfaction
In addition, you will be responsible for:
  • Consistently providing prompt and courteous customer service
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Complying with company policies and restaurant procedures, including all safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Working all assigned shift; arriving on time, in uniform and ready to work
  • Acting as a positive team-player; working cohesively with other employees; contributing to a positive work environment.
Keys to Success
Ours is a busy, fast-paced restaurant requiring team members who can multitask and don't get flustered by the speed. Even though the pace is fast, you will remain calm, service-oriented and upbeat. Likewise, if a customer gets angry, you'll won't take it personally, but will try to resolve the issue, reaching out to shift leadership when necessary.
