The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Developer Specialist opportunity, you will have:- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field
- 7+ years of experience, preferably in energy, and ideally in a multi-site downstream oil & gas environment>
- Strong technical knowledge of programming languages, including the .NET Framework (VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET), C/C++, SQL, and PL/SQL
- Good Experience in DevOps Agile Scrum processes/tools and the overall application development lifecycle
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming and UI front-end development (Angular, Java, HTML5, Vue, etc.)
- Experience integrating Allegro with various enterprise applications, ideally including SAP (ERP)
- Experience working on integrated development tools, including Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, and Eclipse
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, SSIS, SSRS, Crystal Reports, and EDI templates
- Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including Restful services/APIs
- MCSD (Microsoft), Agile, or Scrum certification
The Role
Reporting to an IT Architect, you will join an Allegro team under the supervision of the Senior Business Solution Manager. This position is a blended role requiring a strong background in developing custom applications, building seamless integration with third-party systems, and managing the software development lifecycle of applications.Ideally, you'll already have a good understanding of oil & gas trading and risk, as well as downstream business processes. If not, you'll develop it quickly so that you can work closely and effectively with the functional leads to get an understanding of the business requirements. You'll then translate those requirements into a solution design that can be implemented within the business enterprise landscape in a cost-efficient and scalable manner.
At any given time you can expect to have multiple projects underway, and they'll vary in size and scope. For example, we're getting ready to roll out Allegro to a new business unit, and you'll play a key role in that. In addition, you will be part of building custom applications using RAD platforms, building new reports, integrating acquisitions and more.
You also will be responsible for maintaining technical knowledge of processes and integration areas within all impacted business functions (Commercial, Trading and Risk, Operation, and Finance/Accounting).
More specifically, you will:
- Serve as a resident expert on software development for Allegro and also all the integration points across business functions and technology
- Review, understand existing code and make code enhancements for existing production custom software solutions
- Develop new and/or maintain existing documentation to satisfy typical needs ranging from user requirements to design artifacts.
- Maintain a strong business and technology understanding and awareness of trends, opportunities, and issues
- Proactively identify opportunities and implement enhancements to improve system and business processes to support the goals and objectives of the company
- Serve as primary technical contributor potentially working across different applications and business areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
